I bought a petite waffle iron

I was in Ollie's yesterday. They had Toastmaster and Proctor-Silex for $10. I got the Proctor-Silex. Today, I got my Belgian waffle recipe from my old waffler. The recipe makes the best waffles I've made from scratch. That recipe makes 4 full-size waffles, actually it's always made 6 or 8. I figured out how to make 1/4 batch, and then got the new waffler ready. I've made and eaten 3 waffles, each one 1/4 cup of batter. They are about 4" across. There is enough batter left to make 2 more, but I've already gone overboard. I'll make the rest later and save them.

I haven't had a waffle for 3 years. Glad I indulged myself.

I, too, love waffles, but I can’t remember the last time I had one.

For a grand snack, I make:

Waffle Cheese Fritters

Prep 3-5 minutes
Cook 2-3 minutes per waffle; 10-15 minutes for all the batter
Serves 2-3

Ingredients
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Instructions
In a medium bowl, mix both cheeses with flour until evenly coated.
Add hot sauce and toss well.
Add 3 tablespoons (1/4 cup) of the mixture to the Mini Waffle Maker.
Cook until crispy + golden brown, +/- 2-3 minutes.
Repeat until all fritters are made.
Serve warm + enjoy!!!

Some suggest dipping in marinara sauce or ranch dressing... I like mine plain...

I saw you can take cooked or mashed potatoes and use the waffle iron to make hash browns. I'm down for multiuse!

and I secretly wanted it for myself! We had a Belgian waffle maker but let my son have it since he was the waffle hound.

I think I would like these savory waffles you show!

I don't have a waffle iron, so I'm gonna go to IHOP. Waffles with fruit, jam or preserves. NEVER MAPLE SYRUP!

but I love strawberries, blueberries and sliced bananas on pancakes and waffles. Occasionally I might have strawberry jam, but I like fresh fruit the best.

I like to get the 'Belgian' Waffles--with strawberries and whipped cream. SO good, but I always feel like I'm going to explode after eating one.

My daughter used to make waffles for holiday breakfast and I'd go over there and have my fill and bring some home to freeze. Pop them into the toaster when I wanted some. But lately she hasn't been making them. So I guess I will.

but I can't find the right sugar for the recipe. I'm also looking forward to trying bacon-cheese-pickled jalapeño waffles.

BTW, those little $10 Dash appliances work pretty well, in cluding the waffle iron. The Dash hard-boiled egg maker is faster and more accurate than any other method Ive tried.

My favorite breakfast food by far. I remember the local news used to interview a WWII vet every year on his birthday and when they asked him the secret to his long life, he would say "waffles and sausage".

We'd kept the older one, but not both. They were maybe 3 and 2. Older one told his sister I would make waffles. She was delighted and several times on several days said I was going to make waffles. The big morning arrived and I made waffles. The little girl was beside herself, basically chanting "waffles, waffles, waffles." When I set their plates down in front of them, she looked at it and said, "That's a waffle? "
I still laugh.

Have fun. They grow up really fast.

Reminds me of when I was teaching first grade and a pharmacist came to speak to the class on career day. The pharmacist gave a good presentation and the kids seem to react very enthusiastically to it. When he finished and asked if there were any questions, the first question was "What's a pharmacist?"
