with some planning, very relaxing. I use Uber (discounts through CostCo), rental cars, hotel shuttles (if available). And of course, I use my senior discount. The Del Mar Fair has a train package which can't be beat, includes shuttle to the back entrance gate of the fair.

I live is San Diego Co. and start out at the historic Santa Fe Station, which is a treat in itself - beautiful old station.

I always wanted to grow them.

Did you see any of them at the gardens, Surfered? They can be as much as 10" across!

I love the pompoms, too. Such perfection, every petal neatly in place.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
