Life without Holly

When I got home, I took the carrier out of the car and it was so light without her in it.

I was going to run some errands, but I couldn't get off the couch.

I dozed off sitting up and when I woke up, Martini was in my lap. Earlier, she licked my nose and put her paw on my chin. I don’t know if she realizes Holly is gone but I do think she knows I'm sad.

When I woke up from my nap, Martini followed me upstairs so I could give her her medicine. Holly was not waiting for us outside the door as she always was.

We went downstairs so Martini could get her treats, but Holly was not there for hers.

I'm back sitting on the couch and Holly is not lying on the arm next to me.

Life without Holly is unbearable. I thought I had cried myself out. I was wrong.

We release pheromones when scared happy sad ... ...flight or fight. Martini is aware as most animals can smell these on us. Let Martini help Yu bcz she senses and smells your distress. It will do Yu both good

I often wake up thinking I just heard his little bark asking to be let outside. I still miss the little guy, he won me over (a large dog fan I am). He was my Aunties dog and was only a year when she passed and I promised to take care of him. He was 13 years when he went. I did my best to give him a long and happy life.

Like I said, I still 'hear' him (in my head), probably always will. Time does help, but it seemed to take ages for me.

Hang in there. Your grief is sadness, but it is sadness borne out of LOVE.

every day of her life. Let her be there for you in your memories, she's not gone anywhere there, she's there. Martini can help you and needs help with her grief too. Don't let sadness be her memorial.

To store your favorite moments with Holly.

You will find them for months ahead, and that's perfectly ok.
Give yourself permission to shed each year as a tribute to your little girl.
