Experience disobeying direct order

Army Veteran Dennis Avery recounts his experience of disobeying a direct order during the Vietnam War when he was ordered to open fire on a group of people during takeoff, but radioed back that there were only women and children in the group.

It's a huge ask to expect 18 year old humans to be indoctrinated into the military and understand that you still have a moral duty to defend life and disobey a command. But that is what we are begging from you to do.
