Has anyone ever used Bring a Trailer?

I’m considering listing my car with them. Has anyone bought or sold a car through them? What was your experience like?

TIA

Lot more than the cars were worth. I hope the same for you!

It’s a lot of work just getting the application done. I’m considering professional photos.

I met a guy who photographs vehicles on behalf of sellers for their listing at BAT. He was driving an old bike, which I was certain I recognized. I was wrong. We had a nice talk.

A pro will know what prospective buyers are looking for and take pix you might not have thought of.

That is all.

I tried doing it myself, but they just didn’t turn out. You only get one auction, so I want to have the best chance. Maybe they’ll suggest driving it to a picturesque location.

I still have a lot of work to do for the application… 29 years worth of maintenance records to organize and photograph.

one perennial local seller chooses scenic spots for his cars.

What buyers seem to like is seeing the car up on a lift, so they can check for rust, frame damage, etc. I also think buyers like to be aware of imperfections in the paint and bodywork. If they're there, they're there. Get everything out up front.

The pro photographer, should you go that route, should be not be afraid to show the bad with the good.

I sort of agree because I'm not sure I want to advertise my house. We'll see what the photographer says. Putting it on a lift is not an option, so we'll just have to do our best.

Yes, that's the other thing I have read. Show the bad spots... and there are very, very few of them.

I've also been kicking around the reserve/no-reserve options and am leaning toward no reserve.

in my old neck of the woods. Not for Bring a Trailer.
They parked the cars in the center of a cul de sac which had trees on half the circle and buildings were far enough away to be blurred out.
Good luck with your sale.
