Related: About this forumThe story about the recent shootings in Gaza . . .
. . . is looking more and more like another fabricated outrage from Hamas, published unquestionably by major news organizations, and believed by the masses to the point of murder and fire-bombing attacks on old Jews.
I realize that this comes from the White House. And I remain baffled that the "right wing" is far more on our side and the side of true moral clarity (as far as Israel goes) than is the "left-wing". I remain gobsmacked by this.

We embrace the principle that a healthy democracy requires a well informed citizenry. Accordingly, the mission of HonestReporting is to ensure truth, integrity and fairness, and to combat ideological prejudice in journalism and the media, as it impacts Israel.
Seems a bit biased.

(9,304 posts)Overall, we rate HonestReporting Right-Center Biased based on support for right-leaning nationalist political parties. We also rate them as Mostly Factual rather than High due to the promotion of nationalist propaganda.

As I mentioned along with a pretty intense personal conundrum that causes.

(9,304 posts)The site you used is right wing and the support you are getting that you like is from the right wing here in this country. That is interesting.

(9,881 posts)Especially when the "right-wing" is on the side of moral clarity. Believe me, as a lifelong liberal and as one who believes wholeheartedly in the dream and necessity of Israel, this gives me great pain. Were I in the position to give advice to the liberal world, it would be that it needs to reassess its morality, cause it ain't on the correct side in this issue. All you need to do to see this is to unflinchingly look at what happened and what is happening in Gaza to see that it has been and is a fascist and anti-humanity culture and political structure.
Call me a pragmatist if you'd like.
To quote Golda Meir: If Palestine put down their weapons, there would be peace. If Israel put down their weapons, there would be no Israel.
Perhaps you are on the side of the destruction of Israel because it currently has a right-wing government? God help us if that happens.

(9,304 posts)14,000 civilians out of 38 million people in three years. Even if we half the amount reported dead in Gaza in two years far exceeds that and that is with a far smaller population. That is why we left have a problem with it. I have no problem with Israel being at war, I have no problem with them going after hamas, I have a problem with how they are doing it as it obviously is killing civilians at a far higher rate than they should be.
Russia- 14,000 civilian deaths in three years out of 38 million people.
Israel - at least 25,000 civilian deaths in two years out of 2 million.
There is my moral clarity.

(9,881 posts)It's a total false equivalency. Do you have a problem with the Allied forces killing 9-10 million German citizens to put an end to WWII? What if they had not done so and the Nazis had won?
Do you also know that the statistics coming out of Gaza through Hamas are highly suspect? That Hamas calculates killed Hamas terrorists as citizens? I mean, I could go on, but any moderately intelligent and curious person could discover all of the discrepancies themselves easily enough. If they wanted to, of course.
Can you please remind me as well, when has there been a country that was as brutally attacked as Israel was have the UN and many countries tell them not to fight, or tell them how to fight? Or when to stop fighting? I can't think of a single example. But, ya know, rules are different for the Jews, it would seem.
And also remind me please, when was a country that was attacked by a terrorist force forced to feed them? I can't think of a single example. Can you?
Of course, if you looked into this situation with open curiosity, you would find that Israel has bent over backwards to warn and evacuate civilians from zones that they were going to enter. Please remind me when a country fighting a defensive (or any) war did anything like that. Waiting patiently.
And also please remind me, with hundreds of thousands being killed by Islamic forces in Sudan, Yemen, India, etc., why are we liberals not up in arms about that? It's sort of easy: No Jews, no news.

The bias is in disregarding truth, integrity and fairness. And guess who is doing that. Hint: Not HonestReporting.

(12,568 posts)Am I biased if I only seek truth, integrity and fairness for left-handed albino males between ages of 20 and 25?
Am I biased if I only seek truth, integrity and fairness for my immediate family?
If so, how would you describe my bias in either one of these cases?
