An out-of-control maniac in traditional Muslim garb trashed a kosher bagel shop in Queens in the latest antisemitic incident in the Big Apple — with the shocking vandalism caught on video.

The incident unfolded around 1 a.m. Friday at Bagels & Company, a popular Israeli-owned business in Jamaica Estates, with the unidentified vandal tossing potted plants, chairs and tables at the building for nearly five minutes, footage posted on Instagram by the Jewish Bukharian community shows.

The vandal slipped away, but the incident is now being investigated as a possible hate crime.

An 18-year-old Jewish student who asked to remain anonymous said she wasn’t surprised by the attack but admitted she didn’t feel safe walking in the area. “Honestly I was just confused but not surprised,” she said. “It was just like, here we go, another day basically, but also like why? “It looked like a really angry man throwing tables, screaming — just like bugging out I guess,” she said. “There’s just been a lot more terrorism against Jews, a lot more antisemitism. And, no, I don’t feel safe here walking by myself.”

The NYPD reported that antisemitic attacks in the city spiked by 182% in January compared to the same month last year, accounting for the bulk of Big Apple hate crimes.

This is a popular analogy, but it is false on its face.

If written like this: "Holding all Israelis responsible for the atrocities committed by Netanyahu is no different in its mindless stupidity than blaming all Americans for the atrocities committed by Trump." , then it is a proper analogy. I agree.

If written like this: "Holding all Jews responsible for the atrocities committed by Netanyahu is no different in its mindless stupidity than blaming all Muslims for the atrocities committed by Hamas/Hizb'allah/Houthis/Iran. This would also be a proper analogy. I agree.

However, writing: "Holding all Jews responsible for the atrocities committed by Netanyahu is no different in its mindless stupidity than blaming all Americans for the atrocities committed by Trump." While seemingly a "good thing", it actually implies the libel of "dual loyalty". Not all Israelis are Jews, and not all Jews are Israelis, but all Americans are Americans. The way it is phrased can actually provide an excuse like "sometimes acts against Jews, for being Jews and who aren't Israeli, is acceptable". It isn't.

While I think you were shooting for the second rephrasing, by mixing the two, it creates a false analogy, and one that can been seen as giving tacit approval for some acts of anti-Semitism, as long as they are "packaged" as "protest against Israel."

... are not Israelis, to the best of my knowledge, but the attack on the shop suggests that they are Jewish, and are, by all appearances available to readers, being targeted in retaliation for Netanyahu's attacks in Gaza that targeted schools, hospitals, and first responders.
You are implying intent on my part that is wholly inaccurate, not intended on any level, and splitting frog hairs in the process.
My ONLY intent was to express solidarity with those of the Jewish faith being unfairly victimized by out-of-control Christian zealots for the acts of a head of state who should know better than to put people of his own faith, Israeli or not, in the crosshairs of narrow-minded sociopaths through his own demonstrably illegal acts.

So, no, I was not implying malintent on your part, I was simply correcting a false analogy.

As for Netanyahu "knowing better" and being expected to act in way that doesn't endanger Jews worldwide, NO, he is not to blame, anti-Semites are, he, like Israel, is nothing more than an "excuse" to act on their anti-Semitim.
