My pictures are failing to show.

I've been using https://postimages.org/ to post here, but lately after day or two I and others see a placeholder with orders to upgrade to premium.
ie: https://www.democraticunderground.com/100220289088 It seems some see it, but many don't. Now even I can't see my posts.

It even says it's a free image posting site.
Is there a better and more reliable site?

3. I do post in that group. That's how I found "PostImages" to begin with

But it was working fine in GD until recently.

2. The fault is postimage. They throttle traffic, so you can share with a few friends but not to large readerships

Use imgur. You don't have to be a member to post and they don't throttle. There are probably others too.

The posts that failed were popular ones with a lot of recs, therefore a lot of bandwidth. Others show up fine.
I used Imgur for a long time but it was causing problems as well so someone in the photo group suggested "PostImages"

I was concerned the pix were being censured by the site

5. I use post images all the time...

First off the bat set the expiration to ‘no expiration’…
Then when sharing pick the ‘direct link’ to copy.
Have no problems with that setting

I do not use the forums setting .

7. That's how I do it as well.

Someone suggested the site is throttling the traffic.
The pics fail to show after a couple days of recs and only happen to popular posts (100+ recs)

Perhaps I should change apps, upgrade, or not post anything people like. Until lately I've been using that last one.

8. Ok I can see that...

I post pictures mostly in Cannabis and Gardening forums. Doesn’t get that much traffic, so it seems it doesn’t affect my posts.

9. I don't recall a failure with postimages, but nobody reads my posts anyway 😂

I also use imgbb.com. It often seems slow to cache and show the image upon preview. I scrape the direct URL from "html full linked" and save it to my computer files. That's what I send to DU. It's after "src=" and just up to jpg"

All hosting sites are a PITA, IMO. Oh well.

I email to friends. The mail app even resizes for me. Oh, for the "old" internet.

11. If there's comic posted here you might have sold me.

I can't pay $13 a month so hopefully this works without paid membership

On edit: So much for that.

[url=https://ibb.co/0pVQRztW][img][/img][/url]

That was copied as BB Code full link.

12. I copy the image link directly from the image

After I upload the image, I open the default Viewer Link it gives me below in a new tab, then I just right-click on the full image and Copy Image Link. If you choose the BBCode Full Linked from the drop-down menu, just copy the full image URL part between the [img] and [/img] tags (which DU does not support.)

So what I would do, for example, is upload an image and then go to the default link:

https://ibb.co/HDvxB1yR

Then Right-Click and copy the image link, and paste that like this:

Edit: I do not pay for membership, I use it for free.
