Megan McConnell Helped Off Floor with Injury in First WNBA Game
A fantastic night in Pittsburgh basketballs first family turned upside down later on Tuesday night.
Pittsburgh native Megan McConnell made her WNBA debut on Tuesday night, but the debut was cut short after McConnell collided with an opposing player and appeared to injure her leg. See the play here. McConnell played 13 minutes in the game before suffering the injury. She had gone 1 for 4 from the field, making one three pointer. She had also dropped three assists to her teammates. McConnell added an offensive rebound and a steal.
This debut came on the same day that the Mercury officially announced the signing of McConnell, who was initially released by the team weeks ago after competing with them in training camp.
McConnell, who went undrafted in the recent WNBA Draft, earned a training camp invitation to the Phoenix Mercury organization in the WNBA shortly after the draft concluded. She then competed with the Mercury in the WNBA Preseason.
