It is not like Harvard, or any school, gives out student visas. They all come from the State Department. As the article points out

Notably, the Department of Homeland Security already contains a Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) information database. According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the database "tracks and monitors" schools that hold SEVP status as well as the students who come to the U.S. to attend them.

Schools have to give information on their international students to the DoH on a regular basis by law.

I still do not understand what Trump wants from Harvard (in this case) that they are not already providing or that has been provided TO Harvard BY the government (a list of students that have the visa to attend Harvard).

This really does seem to be a circus for the MAGA mob without substance, signifying nothing.
