MARANA, AZ — Two people are dead after two planes crashed Wednesday morning at an airport in southern Arizona.
Airport personnel have confirmed to Scripps News Group Tucson that the crash occurred at Marana Regional Airport, outside Tucson.
Marana Police Department confirmed both planes were occupied.
Scripps News Group Tucson has confirmed that two people died in the incident. The victims have not been identified.
MPD refers to the crash as an "aircraft collision."
Viewer-submitted photos show smoke in the direction of the airport.
