Serving as the “#1 News Source for all of Southern Maryland,” TheBayNet.com is the place to go for all of your local news and entertainment!

We always have been, and we always will be. When you think of news in Southern Maryland, you think of TheBayNet.com

Our founders had the foresight in the mid-2000’s to create a strictly digital major news organization; one of the first in Maryland. Through the following years, we would continue to serve as the first draft of history for our region. We would cover everything from government corruption, criminal activity, and tragedy, to the softer stories that make everyone feel good (with a few crazy stories sprinkled throughout). We try to cover everything that matters to our community.

Our organization changed hands after our former publisher fell ill in 2020. Since then, we have been working to ensure minimal disruptions to providing news coverage, while trying to restore our team to what it once was. Along with rebuilding our team, we are proud to have invested in the creation of this new website.

Our new site will offer a more user friendly platform for the community to share their stories, events, fundraisers and more, to help us better serve our community! Have a look around the website and please offer us your feedback. We are creating a community news organization, and to properly do that, we need to hear from as many people as possible.
