Gas station attendants, tax preparers, grocery cashiers, bank tellers, auto mechanics, ..

Next time you fill up your tank for $50, do you give the gas station cashier an extra 20% ? What about the tire store when you get a new $600 set of tires ? "Let's see, let me leave a 20% tip of $125"

Are those employees routinely given tips as part of every transaction? Why not ?

Tips are traditionally presumed necessary for servers because it is customary as a supplement for having reduced base wages . Once they receive a living wage comparable to other workers, servers are no different than any other employee.

I will be happy when this occurs as I find the entire system distasteful and quite discrimatory.

Does an attractive young server with a lot of cleavage deserve to be compensated more than an mature heavier woman for doing the exact same job ? Is a server bringing you a $10 burger and fries less deserving of equal compensation than one serving you a $50 steak?
