But there are DMV employee shortages statewide. I just heard on the show State Lines that the Sec. Of Transportation asked for funding for sixty-one more positions on top of the number that are yet to be filled. The NCGA approved the funds. My understanding is that the few employees that they have already travel intrastate to multiple agencies to cover staffing shortages. Do a NC Government job search and you'll see the situation.
Not making excuses. Just a little background info.
