Another Israeli motivation is to distract the attention of not just the United States but the rest of the world from what Israel is doing to the Palestinians. Some of the most blatant killing of famished residents of the Gaza Strip who were seeking food aid has occurred since the start of the Israeli offensive against Iran.

Israel needed the shade and refocused attention to finish off the will of Palestinians against their own ethnic cleansing. Through starvation, killing and terror.

By posing as the "saviour" of the West again, the gullibles and complicit who were getting a wee bit bit uncomfortable by the blatant cruelty could shake off those pangs of conscience and idolize Israel once again. It needed to bolster its image and rally the flagging. At the same time
work for the complete collapse of its enemy state, Iran.

Poor Palestinians and Iranians too.
