7. I have Stage 1 breast cancer and was forced to think about this problem.

Obviously, a Stage 1 diagnosis is much more treatable than your stage, but the shadow of cancer is there whether you have been 'successfully' treated or not. Cancer can ALWAYS come back, even if you have a very favorable prognosis like mine.

Like you, I value my quality of life more than the length of my life. I would probably refuse chemo that made me that miserable. I hope to never have to make that decision for myself, but that's what I would do.
