3. I had a script for it from my doc, but insurance wouldn't pay for it.

So I offered to just pay out of pocket because I had bought it over the counter when traveling once for like $10 or something. When they told me it would be close to $100 I balked. They were a compounding pharmacy and offered to mix something up but it wasn't going to be much cheaper so I just got on the google and found it for on the order of $35.

I would think with your GI issues, it should be covered. It just works. It doesn't take all the pain away, but makes it so you can get going and work through chronic level 4 or 5 stuff for sure.
