I have TMG and you're right - it was discontinued last year though their forums are still active. I really preferred their way of linking sources to specific facts and that I could link the same entry to various people, for instance I used it to connect heirs to wills and children to census reports.

So long as those two work for me, I am not going to worry about changing but I will start scoping out other possibilities.

ETA - My MIL still uses PAF from LDS as she has for 30 years but she was disturbed that it has been discontinued. They recommend Ancestral Quest, Legacy Family Tree, and RootsMagic and provide links to each: https://familysearch.org/paf All three offer free versions but you have to pay for the full version of each.

Ancestral Quest is more similar to PAF and they claim that the original PAF for Windows code came from them. I told MIL if she needs to change programs she should go to it.
