Staining outdoor Concrete Blocks [View all]

We have a concrete slab sidewalk (2x2 or so blocks) to the garage and I was hoping I could stain them in some way in some nice colours.

I am not up on this stuff, but a few years ago I was looking into this and saw some powdered dyes that you put right into the wet cement when you mix it. Beautiful navies, burgundies, adobe sand and gorgeous dark greens. I might try to find that again and just buy the dye and use that as a topical paint. That might work.

Is something out there that you can just apply on the surface, like paint as in permanent, but not like paint that it will sit on the top like that ugly shiney cement paint you can get - but get absorbed into the concrete?

any ideas?
