4. Yes, I have metal casement windows

The frame I'm referring to is the trim around the window in sensible houses, metal as well as wood or vinyl. My windows have no trim, just curved plaster that ends at the metal window, so I needed to use screw anchors to mount the hooks.

Obviously, if you can mount the hooks into wood, they will be more secure. However, if you don't have that option, screw anchors will work.
