Various herbs such as basil or parsley work well in pots.

If you have a trellis for them to grow on, possibly sugar snap peas or pole beans, though they may take a lot of water, and I don't know how they'd do with not so much sun. Consider a bush cucumber or zucchini plant.

Every part of the country has different bugs and birds and viruses and molds that can wipe out garden plants at various stages, so watch out for that, check the plants every day or two for problems. Good luck!
