5. Good question. Perhaps the insurers for the judges will arrange for attorneys to represent the judges.

County judges get sued routinely by prisoners. The judges have liability insurance which offers various forms of protection, including the furnishing of attorneys to defend the lawsuits. Almost always, the lawsuits end with the finding that the judges are covered by the doctrine of judicial immunity.
