Some people have argued that, because CA has liberal medical laws, they don't need full legalization.

The actions of the police would tend to make that assumption invalid. Of course, the entire nation needs to address this issue to insure uniformity of the law, but even then, some backassward politicians will try to void the law (see the Indiana post.)
