Such a published report might have stopped *that* invasion of Cuba, but the reporters would've been totally pilloried as pro-communist, pro-soviet traitors. There'd be no way to prove that the invasion would've been the fiasco it turned out to be. Kennedy would not have found out the hard way that his decision was poor, he wouldn't have the benefit of that hindsight, and he'd have been absolutely furious, as would be the entire military.

The reporters would be on the receiving end of a shitload of abuse that'd make the HRC camp's hate on Snowden and Greenwald appear supportive, in comparison.
