and all manner of things will be well - as the Lord said to the lady Julian." - George MacDonald, a 19th century universalist, as quoted by C. S, Lewis in hos book "The Great Divorce." The Lady Julian referred to was Julian of Norwich and I don't know how accurate the quote is but I like it. Lewis's book is not intended to be taken literally, but it does describe a few scenarios which demonstrate what going to hell of one's own free will might look like. That can be helpful if one is trying to imagine the unimaginable.
