2. 35,000 years ago would have been paleolithic

i think the "late stone age" (neolithic) may start about 10,000 years ago.

as for a 17 year old being "sub adult," 17 year olds are old enough to fight in most armies and must be considered "adult" for most purposes. in his culture he was just a few years short of being a tribal elder.

but, enough quibbling, it is a great reproduction and shows clearly that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
