Leaders work on Downtown homeless problem

TUCSON - Almost 100 people went to a forum to work on the city's homeless problem.

The event at Central City Assembly included homeless advocates and Tucson's business community. Michael Keith is the CEO of the Downtown Tucson Partnership, a nonprofit that works for the revitalization of Downtown.

"Until we have these kinds of dialogues, you really don't know what the solutions might be," Keith said. "I think the downtown is part of that community. And it has to be part of the dialogue and has to help offer solutions if we can."

John Cooper is a homeless man who has helped organize the community. He said homeless people are criminalized for existing.
