2. Well, that was kind of what started the discussion

Her oldest sister turned out incredibly well. She left America in the 70's settled in Switzerland. Became involved in IT at banks and rose to a very high position before retiring to the island of Mauritius.

However the second one turned out differently. She resented her mother, accusing her of abandoning her, married a RW racist jackass and is the pariah of the family in all things political. She is so consumed with hate we fear there will be an early death.

My wife's next older sister, the third of the girls, did not find out until she was in her 20's that her father was the same as the older one's and not my wife's father. So their mother did manage to raise one of the first guy's children. She too has had a lot of success in her life.

For completeness's sake, there are six of the sisters. Three older than my wife. One the exact same age (her twin), and one younger. The youngest was 14 when their mother died and was raised by the oldest. She too turned out very successful in the field of corporate accounting and recently had her first child and is very happy in her life.

There was one boy in the bunch. Between the two oldest ones.We don't talk about him much because of the things he did to his sisters. I will leave it at that as he is dead and gone and there is no reason to bring up the ugly things.

Mary, that was my late mother-in law's name, was one hell of a woman and we named our youngest after her.
