HoF thread [View all]

In the last week or so the word Wh* has been used in thread titles. I alerted and the jury came back with a "not hidden" Because you know the word on one occasion was not used to describe a woman. Another time the word was used in the original title for the OP.

Every freaking excuse was invented to allow the post to stand. A question I have is if anyone on this thread expressing outrage served on those juries?

DEFINITION of 'Trickle-Down Theory'

An economic idea which states that decreasing marginal and capital gains tax rates - especially for corporations, investors and entrepreneurs - can stimulate production in the overall economy. According to trickle-down theory proponents, this stimulus leads to economic growth and wealth creation that benefits everyone, not just those who pay the lower tax rates.

How does this apply to misogyny? The idea that the judicial system, from police to judges, will take rape seriously from the investigative level to the sentencing IF found guilty will trickle down to society that rape is real and be punished appropriately. Thus society will not accept rape culture and treat women with respect.

Just like the economic theory, this is so freaking of the mark it is laughable.

As with any societal changes combating rape, misogyny, sexism it must be a grass roots endeavor. Excising derogatory terms for females from a person's vocabulary is at the very basic level. Not justifying their usage is part of telling those in power that as a society we will not tolerate devaluing woman and crimes against them.

IOW if you want to change something, the change must start with you.
