1. I don't know anything about Apple products,

but this sounds like it might have something to do with the overall problems most of us are experiencing in that there are two servers that operate DU, one for the threads and replies, while the other server is the "style" formatter. There may something that is getting caught in the cache of Safari that is causing a problem.

Quickest guess and fix: Close Safari and reopen it. If you feel adventurous you can open the settings and empty the cache.

If that doesn't work, my fallback is to log off DU and the iMAC, then turn off the power. Wait a minute and turn on your device.

It's frustrating, but it might be more productive than tinkering with the settings either on DU or for the entire iMac.
