It's better that she is in the hospital being attended, if she passes. At some point, they will come to you and ask to make her a DNR. Then you'll know more what they think. You don't have to let her go without a fight. Do what you need to do for her, for you. I think that the system is prejudiced against older folks. Make them do their jobs, but be calm. Be gentle.

Don't be surprised if you step out to restore yourself, only to find that she passed during this time. Take care of yourself, and if this happens, don't beat yourself up. Who knows, you might get lucky and be able to bring her home. Don't send her to a nursing home. If you make her a DNR, get a copy and put it on your refrigerator. You'll need that.

Taking care of an invalid at home is one of the hardest things you'll ever do. Rally your resources. Meanwhile, we are sending prayers to you and her in the hopes that this isn't her time.
