6. If you cash an I-Bond before 5 years, you lose last 3 months of interest

I have some older I-Bonds that are currently earning a good total rate since their initial base interest was quite a bit higher than current base rate so I may hold them to maturity which is 30 years. Best to check the Treasury website to find out current value if cashed in.
